Join us for a staged play reading of William Inge’s soaring story of marital frustration. Following an indiscreet affair and unintended pregnancy, Doc gave up his medical studies, forfeited his future and settled down to a married life of quiet desperation with Lola. A recovering alcoholic, Doc’s sobriety is tested when a young college student becomes their boarder, bringing new life and long-dormant hostilities to the surface of Doc and Lola’s troubled marriage. This reading is directed by Dave McGrath and features local actors: Gina Shuster, Kristen Pellizzi, Roni Banerjee, Ed Estevez, Antje Weymann, Derek Alberti, Matthew Gochamn, Frank Leonhardt and Robert Goodwin. A talk-back session will follow the reading. Admission is free, but a $5 donation is requested.
