Historical Society of Ocean Grove
The historic walking tour provides visitors with an overview of Ocean Grove from the first Camp Meeting of 1869. As you stroll along the park between the museum you will learn about several historical buildings including: The Bishop James Tabernacle built in 1877, the Young Peoples Temple, Thornley Chapel and Beersheba Well. Also included in the tour is The Great Auditorium designed by Fred Camp of New York and built in 1894. It is a major attraction of Ocean Grove that houses the Hope Jones pipe organ installed on July 2, 1908 at a cost of $27,000 and has over 11,000 pipes making it one of the largest pipe organs.
