The Upper Freehold Historic Farmland Byway was designated as a scenic byway through the State of New Jersey in 2006 through a community-led effort administered by the County of Monmouth to ensure the unique agrarian roots and rich history of the area was forever preserved and available to the community. Members of the byway committee, administered by the County of Monmouth Division of Planning staff and Monmouth Conservation Foundation, continues to improve, and promote the byway experience through regular meetings.
